Wine Scholarships 2018
The Esther Knewitz Memorial Scholarship
Esther was a lovely German girl who died tragically while working harvest in Australia in 2004. In 2006 Bibber launched a Memorial Scholarship to honour her memory and her many achievements during her 24 short years.
The scholarship is now offered to Australian applicants wishing to work a harvest period in Germany. The scholarship covers the costs of visa, airfares and insurance. Please click here for more information.
2018 winner of the Esther Knewitz Scholarship is Harry Lehmann.
"Hi, my name is Harry Lehmann, I am 21 years of age and call the Barossa Valley, South Australia my home.I am very fortunate to be the recipient of the 2018 Esther Knewitz Scholarship.
I am excited to be on what will be for me a journey of learning and discovery in Germany at Reh-Kendermann Winery.
Although my heritage is steeped in wine I have yet to prove myself and see this opportunity as a huge stepping stone in that direction.
My father Doug Lehmann was a large identity in the Australian Wine Industry who passed away suddenly four years ago and it is my wish to honour his memory.
My sincere thanks to everyone involved.
